Study Permit / Student Visa

Hence, we will provide right guidance and advice according to your profile keeping in mind various factors like your educational profile, visa prospects, job prospects, PR pathways etc., If you have already done the groundwork and have a list of institutions, we are more than happy to secure admission for the same!

Study Permit:

The study permit is a document that allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLIs) in Canada. A study permit is required if:

  • Program is more than 6 months in duration
  • Program that requires a co-op internship
  • Minor accompanying a parent(s) who is in Canada as a visitor
  • Person from a visa exempt country

Student Direct Stream / SDS is available for legal residents of China, India, Morocco, Pakistan, the Philippines, Senegal & Vietnam

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • be from an eligible country (mentioned on the list)
  • be studying in Canada for more than 6 months
  • have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of at least $10,000
  • have paid their first year's tuition in full
  • have a medical exam performed by an IRCC authorized panel physician within the last 12 months if they have visited a designated country for 6 consecutive months within the last year
  • have taken a language test from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall band score of 6.0 or higher, with no individual band lower than 6.0 minimum band of 6.0 or the Test d'évaluation de Français (TEF) with a minimum ability of 7.0 within the past two years
  • a recent education transcript and
  • a letter of acceptance from a post-secondary Designated Learning Institution.

Open work permit

An open work permit lets you work for any employer in Canada, except for one that is listed as ineligible on the list of employers who have failed to comply with the conditions, or regularly offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services or erotic massages

You can only get an open work permit in specific situations listed below:

  • are an international student who graduated from a designated learning institution and are eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program
  • are a student who’s no longer able to meet the costs of your studies (destitute student)
  • have an employer-specific work permit and are being abused or at risk of being abused in relation to your job in Canada
  • applied for permanent residence in Canada
  • are a dependent family member of someone who applied for permanent residence
  • are the spouse or common-law partner of a skilled worker or international student
  • are the spouse or common-law partner of an applicant of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program
  • are a refugee, refugee claimant, protected person or their family member
  • are under an unenforceable removal order
  • are a temporary resident permit holder
  • are a young worker participating in special program
